    FROM THE WILL OF PETER BODY DATED 26 MAY 1790, PROVED 25 JUN 1791

    This is the last will and testament of me Peter Body of the parish of St.Stephens in Branwell in the county of Cornwall yeoman. Whereas my son Thomas Body is now in the possession of a dwelling house and field or meadow in the parish of St.Mewan in the said county part and parcel of a certain tenement called Polyear in the parish of St.Mewan aforesaid, which I hold by lease from Lord Arundell, now I do give devise and bequeath the said dwelling house and field or meadow to my said son Thomas Body during all my right and title therein, he keeping the said premises in good repair and paying and discharging one fifth part of all rates taxes and outgoings payable out of the whole of my said tenement of Polyear. And whereas I did lately take a new lease of Lord Falmouth of all that tenement in St.Stephens in Branwell aforesaid formerly called the Down Close wherein I now reside for the term of 99 years determinable on the death of three lives, but which lease is drawn in the name of my son William Body, now I do give devise and bequeath the said tenement called the Down Close and every part thereof to him my said son william Body during the remainder of my right and title, and I do likewise give him the sum of ten shillings and sixpence to be paid by my executor hereinafter named, altho he my said son William has not lately behaved to me as a good and dutiful son. I give and bequeath unto my dearly beloved wife Jane the sum of six pounds a year to be paid by my executor hereinafter named by quarterly payments during her life, and do hereby make all that estate called Higher Treloweth in the parish of St.Mewan aforesaid which I hold by virtue of a lease from Lord Arundell subject to the payment of the said annuity. I give to my son in law Thomas Yelland the sum of five pounds and five shillings, to my son in law William Vian five pounds and five shillings, to my son in law Nathaniel Ball the sum of five pounds and five shillings, and to my daughter Susanna Body spinster the sum of five pounds and five shillings the whole to be paid within twelve months after my decease. All the rest residue and remainder of my goods chattels lands and tenements of what nature and sort soever, I give devise and bequeath unto my son Peter Body the younger and do hereby make nominate and appoint him my whole and sole executor of this my last will and testement in witness whereof I have hereto put my hand and seal this twenty sixth day of May one thousand seven hundred and ninety.
