    The letter dated 19 Oct 1868 - addressed to "My Dear Keatie" refers to her letter of June 16. The following are references to Methodism at Coombe.

    Richard Goldsworthy is dead "there is now no long a prayer leader left in that Church that was there when the separation took place. Thomas Marks(?), James Beer, William H. Truscott and F.Endean alias Hugh, are now the leading men - and their Sunday School is very low ("just died out").
    The letter contains the following references to people:
    Your honoured parents - your affectionate Aunt Carne - your sister Bessie & brother William. Shelly & Thomas Richard are also names (further brother & sister?)
    I and mother are much the same - Mary Jane & family are well - Annie growing away nicely - Ernest plump & jolly - William Hodge tall but slight - Thomas John very intelligent - Ellen Curley headed little girl - John Yelland (Court Mill) crop of the family - my brother Richard almost gone - was down 4 weeks Sunday - Aunt Ann is going to live in the house at Court Mill where my sister Eleanor used to live. She is now living at Brannel with George Yelland Junior & his father - Mrs. Yelland & Jane Y. live at Churchtown - Poor Jane, your old servant. Mary Harris is dead - George Harris not likely to live long.
